What's the meaning for crosslinked polyolefin backing?

The radiation cross-linked polyethylene heat shrink tape consists of a three-layer structure, consisting of a substrate layer, a hot melt adhesive layer, and an epoxy primer layer from top to bottom. It is formed by hot pressing to form a whole, with the substrate layer being a polyethylene layer and the hot melt adhesive layer being a polyurethane type hot melt adhesive layer. Radiation crosslinking improves the water vapor sealing performance of the substrate, the adhesion of hot melt adhesive, the corrosion resistance of chemical media, and the cathodic stripping resistance of epoxy primer.

What's the difference for 2PE HSS and 3PE HSS heat shrink sleeves?
