Cold-Applied Visco-Elastic Anti Corrosion Wrapping Tape

Cold-Applied Visco-Elastic Anti Corrosion Wrapping Tape is a new-type high-performance viscoelastic polyolefin material. It preserves the dual characteristics of the solid adhesive material and liquid adhesive material. In normal conditions, its viscoelastic property will keep above 30 years. This product has excellent viscolastic , sound water-proof and easy-used characters.

Installation instruction:

1, Removing the free rust and dirt on the surface of valve station by wire brush and other tools, with the aim of granting its surface treatment grade to meet the requirement of St 2.0. When the derusting is over, you can use dry cloth to clear the dust which nestles against the protected surface. After that, it is possible to put the surface in a state of dryness, no free rust and no dirt.

2, Before wrapping, adhering the pipe surface with 100*200mm viscoelastic tape. Then tearing the tape by hands to see if the viscoelastic layer clings to pipe surface, and further to test whether the surface is clean or not.

3, To estimate the needed viscoelastic anticorrosive tape according to the space of the coverage that needs to fill. And then cut the tape to proper length. Firstly, tearing down the transparent isolating membrane, which covers the viscoelastic anticorrosive tape.  When cutting is finished, moulding the tape to required width and shape, and then fills the remoulded tape to the parts that needs to fill, such as the indentation of flanged joint and bolts. Secondly, pressing the tape across the white adhesive-proof membrane by palms and fingers. After that, the filled parts can enjoy smooth transitions, which provide convenience to the wrapping of viscoelastic anticorrosive tape.

4, To choose the viscoelastic anticorrosive tape with the proper width of 50mm, 100mm, or other size according to the pipe diameter. The width of overlapping part between two viscoelastic layers≥25mm(also the overlapping part can occupies 50% space of the underside layer according to customers’ requirement). The width of overlapping part on the joint is no less than 50mm. During wrapping, tearing certain adhesive-proof membrane and pressing the viscoelastic tape should be done simultaneously. Don’t tear the adhesive-proof membrane too long at one time since it may bring air bubble and wrinkle. If there exists slight wrinkle on overlapping part, great force should be used to press the wrinkle to create great sealing performance judging by sight, then wrapping the whole parts that need corrosion protection orderly.

5, Once the quality of viscoelastic anticorrosive tape is up to specification, if the polyethylene outer tape is needed, then the matching Polyethylene tape should be immediately applied. The overlapping part of tape occupies 50%~55% space of underside tape. During wrapping, wrapping and tearing parting membrane down should be done at the same time. If there is slight wrinkle on overlapping part, great force should be used to press the wrinkle to create great sealing performance judging by sight, then wrapping the whole parts that need corrosion protection orderly.

6, The polyethylene outer tape must cover the viscoelastic layer completely. The width of its overlapping part with the original anticorrosive layer is no less than 25mm.
