3. At low temperatures, PE has good corrosion resistance and impact resistance, with low water absorption.
4. At the same time, it has high epoxy strength, low polyethylene water absorption, and good flexibility of hot melt adhesive. Has high anti-corrosion reliability. The characteristics of this anti-corrosion method are simple production process, good anti-corrosion effect, and low price. It is a recognized anti-corrosion method for pipeline manufacturing in the industry. Three layers of polyethylene (3PE) steel pipes are used for anti-corrosion in oil and natural gas, and two layers of polyethylene (2PE) steel pipes are used for anti-corrosion. The standard is SY/T0413-2002; DIN30670.
Scope of use of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes
1. It is applicable to underground water supply and drainage, underground spraying, positive and negative pressure ventilation, gas discharge, fire spray and other pipe networks in thermal power plants. Handle waste residue and return water transportation pipelines.
2. Suitable for water supply pipelines in sprinkler systems, suitable for cable coverage in power, communication, highways, and other fields.
3. Suitable for high-rise building water supply, heating network, tap water engineering, gas transportation, buried water transportation and other pipelines. Process pipelines used for transporting corrosive media in petroleum pipelines, chemical drugs, and printing and dyeing industries.
4. Sewage treatment and discharge pipes, sewage pipes, and biological tank anti-corrosion engineering. Agricultural irrigation pipes, deep well pipes, drainage pipes, and other pipe networks.
2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe:
The two anti-corrosion structures of the pipeline - the first layer of adhesive (AD) and the second layer of polyethylene (PE) - are integrated together, with each layer having the same thickness as the three layers of PE.
3PE anti-corrosion (three-layer polyethylene), also known as extruded polyethylene structure protective layer. The 3PE anti-corrosion technology combines the excellent performance of extruded polyethylene and epoxy coatings, combining the interface characteristics of epoxy coatings with the mechanical protection characteristics of polyethylene coatings, thereby significantly improving their respective performance. Its characteristics include high mechanical strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, and adaptability to cold regions. Therefore, a 3PE anti-corrosion layer is an ideal external protective coating for buried pipelines.
From the above content, it can be seen that the difference between 2PE and 3PE is that 3PE has an additional layer of epoxy powder for anti-corrosion, and epoxy powder has good mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and strong resistance to cathodic stripping. Although it has advantages such as strict surface treatment, poor weather resistance, and high water absorption rate, it is suitable for buried pipelines and submarine pipelines. The thickness of the coating layer is only 0.3-0.5 millimeters, and the service life can reach 40-50 years.
