SICHUAN FORVER Launches HST120MS Heat Shrink Sleeve System for High-Integrity Pipeline Joint Protection

The HST120MS system features a heavy-duty, radiation cross-linked polyethylene backing paired with a high-shear-strength hot-melt adhesive layer. Designed to address the critical requirements of field joint coating (FJC), the system provides long-term joint integrity, high adhesion stability, and reliable waterproofing on welded pipeline field joints. 

Engineered for Harsh Onshore and Offshore Applications

Field joint coatings represent one of the most vulnerable sections of pipeline infrastructure. The HST120MS sleeve has been validated to accommodate rigorous site preparation standards, operating efficiently on steel surfaces prepared to St 2 – St 3 power-wire brush standards. Beyond standard steel substrates, the HST120MS system exhibits full compatibility with existing factory coatings, including 3LPE, EPDM, neoprene rubber, and painted steel interfaces. 

To support offshore installations, the HST120MS procedure integrates specific controls for marine environments, addressing key challenges such as wind exposure, high humidity, vessel movement, and salt contamination. In offshore lay barge scenarios, application criteria mandate a steel temperature threshold of surface temp more than dew point + 3 ℃ to prevent moisture condensation during preheating and recovery. 

Integrated Visual Quality Control & Field Repair System

To eliminate ambiguity during field installation, the HST120MS sleeve backing incorporates a dimpled surface pattern. During circumferential heating, the backing transitions to a completely smooth surface, giving applicators an immediate visual indication of uniform heat recovery. Furthermore, controlled adhesive flow along both sleeve edges provides clear post-installation evidence of complete seal formation. 

In addition to field joint protection, SICHUAN FOREVER provides a dedicated suite of repair materials designed for factory coating defects and minor installation damage:

PE Melt Stick: Applied for minor coating pinholes and cracks less than 5 square mm

Repair Patch & Mastic: Designed for localized factory 3LPE coating repair up to 10 square cm, restoring structural and anti-corrosive continuity.
